Inside the 5ft Double Hutch

The side panels are 10mm timber and the floors are 13mm plywood, a solid combination that holds warmth well. A robust bedding door closes off a cosy arched sleeping area. The whole hutch is treated with a pet-safe preservative. Built-in legs keep it off damp ground and let air circulate underneath.

Upgraded mesh with half-inch squares and strong bolts on every door are designed to keep predators out. Swivel kick-boards make sweeping out old bedding quick. A central wire panel gives you an easy place to hang a water bottle.

How the two covers work together

Start with the Snuggle. It fits over the hutch and under the Rain cover. It adds a thermal layer that helps keep your pets warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

The Hugger goes on top. Hook the straps under the rear legs, drop it over the hutch, then adjust the straps and press the Velcro closed. Its clear front window lets you see your pets at a glance. When you need to feed or clean, lift up the whole front. Both covers stay put, so the daily routine stays simple.

All three have two tiers and a ramp. The 4ft (123.5cm wide) suits smaller gardens. The 5ft (153cm wide) gives extra floor space on both levels. The 6ft (180cm wide) offers the most room. Rabbits also need daily access to a run, whichever size you choose.

Does the hutch need assembling?
